There was a 1 5 km looped trail leading alongside the canyon and over a series of foot bridges with some inclines on the way up but still an easy trail. Marble canyon is not far from lake louise and while it does get a steady flow of hikers it is. Marble canyon is easily accessible off of the 93s in kootenay national park between banff and radium. I stopped here on september 24 2020. The trail is primarily used for hiking walking and nature trips and is accessible year round.
This is a really beautiful area and a nice easy walk for the family with some beautiful scenery to go along with it. Marble canyon is a beautiful place to visit in kootenay. For capacity and safety reasons all equipped campsite and otentik bookings for the season are cancelled. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Marble canyon is a popular experience in kootenay national park british columbia canada. Banff national park is so full of beautiful places that some of them are bound to fly under the radar. 6 8 km hiking time. Make a visit here in august when the the fireweed is at its prime lining the forest floors with a beautiful pink and purple.
That seems to be the case for marble canyon located on highway 93 a few minutes south of highway 1. The hike is very short just under 2 kilometers but the visual impact is amazing.
